Lancet for Diabetes testing

    I purchased these because I have been testing my blood sugar since both my parents found out they are both diabetics. I also had grandparents on my dad's side that were diabetics.

The lancets that I was using would make my fingers hurt for a couple of days after use. These are surprisingly a lot easier to use and they really do not hurt as bad.

The company says, "that they are 300 count 30 gauge lancets with a smooth tri-beleved tip, and are virtually painless testing."

USB C Cable VOXLINK 3 Pack USB C to USB A (Type C to Type A) Cable

I purchased the USB C Cable VOXLINK 3 Pack USB C to USB A (Type C to Type A) Cable to use with my husband and mine phone.
This is a USB to Type C USB Connector with a metal connector. It is a flexible braided cord for a tangle free use. It also has a plated connector that is resistant against corrosion. The cables are 6 foot long with is awesome when you don't have close outlets.
It seems to be well constructed and I have been using one of the cords a lot the last few days and have had no problems. I like the camouflage colors so that you can use it almost anywhere and it will not stick out like a sore thumb. The colors are very nice.

Oskri Dark Chocolate Coconut Bars

I purchased these Oskri Dark Chocolate Coconut Bars for a healthy snack. I thought to myself well I like dark chocolate and I like coconut, this will be an awesome combination.  I was skeptical though at first because I have tried other "healthy" bars and it was like eating cardboard. 

I was really surprised at how good they tasted and how soft and chewy they were.  The chocolate was the right blend with the coconut.  One ingredient didn't over power the other.

Denali Active Chillax Cooler Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated

I purchased the Denali Active Chillax Cooler Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated for my husband as I thought he would like it. He has used it several times and says it does keep it cold until he is finished.  I love the color and it is nicely made. 

This cooler is made with strong, premium food grade 18/8 stainless steel double-wall vacuum insulation and it will never sweat or drip on your furniture no matter how hot the party gets. The company says to compare with YETI and other brands.

The rubberized lid is suppose to be compatible with most 12 oz aluminum cans and beer bottles. However the one can that my husband tried to use in it wouldn't fit.

Aslan Organic Cotton Bed Sheet Set - 100% Cotton 4pc Sheet Set

I got the Aslan Organic Cotton Bed Sheet Set because we have downsized to a queen bed and didn't have many sheets for it.  I was so excited to get these and the color is good color for our bedroom.

The manufacturer says that they were organically dyed.  Straight out of the package they felt wonderful.  The manufacturer does recommend cold wash and gentle cycle.  I have washed and dried them and they look just as good as they did when I took it out of the package.  They fit really well and after sleeping on them for a couple of weeks, there is no show of any wear.

They do seem to stay in place pretty good, and I am a moving sleeper.  I toss and turn all night and they seem to withstand that.

They are very comfortable to sleep on and they feel wonderful against the skin.

KING DO WAY Digital Alarm Clock Morning Clock

I purchased the KING DO WAY Digital Alarm Clock Morning Clock for when we travel or go camping. It is a battery operated alarm clock with large read out. I love the green color. It is so bright and vibrant.

This digital alarm clock can be set for Monday to Friday, Monday to Saturday or Monday to Sunday, which keeps you from having to turn on and off the alarm every day.

Simple settings that let you just slide and press to set time,date(yy/mm/dd), and dual alarms easily.
Just turn on the senor light and the clock will automatically glow a soft light in dark. If you're sensitive to the light, you may also turn off the sensor, the screen is lights only when you press "KING DO WAY" button on the top of the alarm.

There is also a temperature display that displays both Celsius and Fahrenheit.

This does take 3 AAA batteries which were not included but that is what makes it so great for traveling. No cords to deal with.

These are solar lights shaped as dragonflies. They are made if plastic but they are so pretty. They are 20 feet long and has 8 different modes.  How the lights flashes (8 modes)?
1. Flashing from Mode 2 to Mode 7 at random.
2. Waving from bright to dim repeatedly at two speeds.
3. Flashing alternately and sequential in 4 speeds.
4. Every single light fade slowly from bright repeatedly at 3 speeds.
5. Starry flashing with lighting in wave.

Terry Treetop and the Little Bear

This is another cute Terry Treetop book. This is a wonderful children's book, and it tells the story of how Terry sees a bear cub playing in the trees and then his mother comes and calls it back into the woods deeper. Unfortunately the bear cub falls into a hole and can't get back out. So Terry runs to his tree house and gets the ladder and puts it in the hole for the bear cub to climb up. At the end of the story the bear cub and Terry are racing up the trees to the top and Terry decides to call the little bear "Barry Treetop".

The illustrations are so full of color and are so well done. This is a wonderful short story for young kids to read.

From the Beginning by Timna Kurtz

Timna Kurtz put an interesting twist to the post apocalyptic world that we usually think of. In this book, the world comes to an end from the melting of the ice caps and the whole world floods. There are only a handful of survivors that make it to a series of islands from the "big" ships that capsized etc.

This is a story of Grace one strong woman who has visions of the future and how they must do things that our ancestors way back did. The rest of the group calls her a "priestess". She leads a group of survivors by going back to tribal ways such as communal sex partners so that there is not jealousy or feeling of being left out since there were odd numbers of men and women. The fact that they share the responsibility of caring for the young ones. They started growing their own food, and even fight evil.

 It was a very interesting book, and if there is a sequel, I will probably read it too.

I read another very educational book called, If You Were Me and Lived in... Elizabethan England , by Carole P. Roman, and illustrated by Paula Tabor. This is a very educational and fun book to read. I love the illustrations, because they are so beautiful, and artfully done.

 There is a dictionary in the back of the book to help children understand what some of the words mean. I would definitely recommend this book if you have kids. My niece loves the books and she is 8.

Cable Drop Clips with 3M

I purchased the Vorfreude® 10 Pack Cable Clips & Cord Management Drops to help organize all the wires on my desk. I love that it is quick and easy to install. All you have to do is peel and stick. It will stick to virtually any surface smooth or rough. The size I ordered has three slots for cords and they stay in really well. You really have to pull on them to get them to slip out. I have already used half of them on my desk and will use the other half when we finish painting and set up the entertainment center. I may actually have to purchase another pack.

Love of The Sirens Ebook

I finished reading, Love Of The Sirens ebook, by Edith Zack.  It isn't a style that I normally read, but I really enjoyed learning more about the history of women composers of music.

There are 20 different women composers highlighted in this book.  Edith Zack starts with the earliest composer up to one of the latest who was born in the 1930's. 

It talks about how the women composers talents were hidden away due to their sex and social standings. It tells of how they proved to be just as talented as their male counterparts of their era.

This book will not take you long to read, and would make a perfect break time read.  I was really impressed with the book.

Dry Dog Shampoo No Water Needed.

I purchased the Dry Dog Shampoo which is a waterless foam mousse.  This shampoo is a coconut derived formula, which is safe for all dogs, and is really great for dogs with sensitive skin.  I loved that you just squirt a line of the mousse down your dog's back, and work it into the fur.

This shampoo smells so wonderful.  Even after a few days after using it,  I can still smell it on my dog. It didn't make my hands feel dried out or rough after using it on my dog.  I found it really easy to use and you don't have to use much of the shampoo so this 8 oz bottle will last for a while.

This item is made in the U.S.A. so that is also another positive for it.

Camping Lantern

I purchased the BHCLIGHT Ultra Bright Portable 60 LED Tent Camping Dimmable Lantern to take camping and to use above our picnic table. I like that it has 3 different light settings, the lowest is great for just enough light to light a path, and the brightest is enough to read or play games by. There are two battery options, which you have to purchase either one since it doesn't come with the batteries. The 1 pc of rechargeable 18650 battery, or 3- AAA batteries. I just went with the AAA batteries since I already had them on hand. I also like that it has 60 LED lights which according to the company's description of the product produces the maximum 240 lumens, and a light radius of 50ft. Another nice feature of this lantern is it comes with its own hanging clip.  It clipped nicely on a small tree branch and I didn't have to find a piece of string to hang it.  I was amazed with how much light this produces. I am ready to sit outside at the picnic table and read or go camping.
